About Me

Hi! I’m Kim and I’ve been selling treasures on the internet since 1998. I started with a variety of items and then my dear Grandma Jane died at age 98.

We were going through her estate and my aunt told me I should sell Grandma’s Franciscan Ivy dishes because they didn’t make them anymore. Well, one thing led to another and I was hooked on DISHES. I began going to auctions, estate sales, and swap meets. Anyplace I could find fun decorative dishes. I have gathered up a huge collection for your shopping enjoyment.

I started with an eBay store in 2002 and opened my own Decorative Dish online boutique store, DecorativeDishes.net, in 2006. I even named my parent company Thanks Grandma Inc.

Since then I have shipped thousands and thousands of decorative dishes to happy dish lovers all over the world. Dishes from my shop have appeared on the Nate Berkus show and in decorating and bride magazine spreads (see bottom of page). I have shipped dishes to an interior designer for a restaurant in India and a Marie Antoinette plate to her museum in France. I have shipped to celebrities like the best friend of a “retired” daytime talk show host.

I did a write up and there were many dishes from my shop in the book, Hot Cottage Collectibles for Vintage Style Homes.

I am happy to answer questions you might have about whether certain dishes would be right for you: color or size combinations, suitability for eating, etc. Like me on Facebook to see what’s happening in the shop, read my blog for decorating ideas and featured items, pin my dishes to your Pinterest page–here’s mine.  I’m also on Instagram .

When you buy here you are dealing with me personally. I find the dishes, photograph them, write the descriptions, pack them and take them to the post office myself–a one woman show.

Have fun shopping!!! Dishes make you happy.

P.S. My assistant, Maci, the rescued Bichon Frise, will be seen modeling some of my favorite finds.
